God Remembers
There are moments in life when it feels like nobody notices.
You pray, but the answer seems delayed. You serve, but nobody says thank you. You choose to do what is right when doing what is wrong would be easier. You keep giving, encouraging, forgiving, and trusting God—even when you wonder if it is making a difference.
Sometimes you may even ask, “Does God see this?”
The answer is yes.
God sees.
God hears.
God knows.
And God remembers.
Malachi 3:16 gives us a beautiful reminder:
“Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.”
— Malachi 3:16 NLT
This verse gives us a powerful picture of God paying attention to His people. The world may overlook faithfulness, but God never does.
Your obedience matters.
Your prayers matter.
Your words matter.
Your generosity matters.
Your desire to honor God matters.
Even when nobody else notices, God remembers.
God Notices Everyday Faithfulness
Malachi 3:16 begins with people who feared the Lord simply talking with one another.
They were not necessarily standing on a stage. They were not famous or influential. They were ordinary people who loved God—and Scripture says the Lord listened.
Think about that. God listened to their conversations.
Sometimes we underestimate the importance of everyday moments. We may think only sermons, worship services, or big acts of faith make a difference.
But God pays attention when His people encourage one another and honor His name.
A conversation can strengthen someone’s faith.
A few words of encouragement can keep someone from giving up.
Sharing what God has done in your life can remind someone else that He is still working.
You may never fully know the impact of your words—but God does.
What Does It Mean to Fear the Lord?
The phrase “fear the Lord” appears throughout Scripture. It does not simply mean being afraid of God. It speaks of having reverence, awe, and respect for who He is.
To fear the Lord is to take God seriously.
It means His opinion matters more than the approval of people. It means His Word matters even when it challenges us. It means choosing obedience even when another path would be easier.
Sometimes faithfulness costs us something.
Maybe you have chosen honesty when dishonesty could have benefited you.
Maybe you have forgiven someone when bitterness felt justified.
Maybe you have continued praying after years of disappointment.
Maybe you have kept believing when your circumstances gave you plenty of reasons to doubt.
God sees those choices.
Faithfulness is never wasted when it is done for God.
God Remembers What Others Forget
People forget. God doesn’t.
When Malachi describes a “scroll of remembrance,” it gives us a picture of God’s complete knowledge and His attention toward His people.
God does not overlook what matters.
Maybe someone forgot the sacrifice you made.
God remembers.
Maybe nobody thanked you for serving.
God remembers.
Maybe your family never knew how many times you prayed for them.
God remembers.
Maybe you gave generously when you didn’t have much to give.
God remembers.
Maybe you continue honoring God faithfully with your finances.
God remembers.
There are things people may never see, but nothing is hidden from God.
You don’t need a large platform for your life to matter. You don’t need recognition from people to receive recognition from God.
Faithfulness in private is still faithfulness.
Use Your Words to Build Faith
Malachi tells us that God’s people “spoke with each other,” and the Lord listened.
That should cause us to think about our own conversations.
Are we constantly focused on everything that is wrong? Are our words tearing people down? Or are we helping people remember the goodness and faithfulness of God?
There is a place for honest conversations about pain. Following Jesus does not mean pretending life is always easy.
But even in difficult seasons, we can point one another toward God.
We can say:
“God is still faithful.”
“Keep praying.”
“Don’t give up.”
“God sees what you’re going through.”
“God has not forgotten you.”
Sometimes people don’t need another explanation. They simply need someone to remind them who God is.
What if the people around us walked away from conversations with us feeling more hopeful because we reminded them of God’s faithfulness?
Those conversations matter.
When You Feel Forgotten
Maybe today you feel forgotten.
You have prayed, waited, served, or believed, and nothing seems to be changing.
Remember this: silence does not mean God has forgotten you.
A delayed answer is not proof of God’s absence.
A difficult season is not proof that God has abandoned you.
We don’t always see what God is doing, but Malachi 3:16 reminds us that He listens.
He sees.
He knows.
He remembers.
Your prayers are not disappearing into nothing.
Your faithfulness is not invisible.
Your life is not unnoticed by God.
Don’t Give Up
One of the greatest temptations in our walk with Jesus is to quit because we think nothing is happening.
Maybe you have served for years.
Maybe you have prayed for years.
Maybe you have given generously.
Maybe you have encouraged countless people while quietly carrying your own burdens.
Maybe you have remained faithful through circumstances nobody else fully understands.
God has not forgotten your faithfulness.
Your story may not be known by everyone.
Your sacrifices may not be celebrated.
Your prayers may be private.
Your obedience may go unnoticed.
But none of it is invisible to God.
So keep praying.
Keep serving.
Keep giving.
Keep encouraging.
Keep forgiving.
Keep choosing what is right.
Keep honoring God.
Keep trusting Him.
Not because everyone will notice. Not because every prayer will immediately be answered. Not because following Jesus will always be easy.
Keep going because God is worthy of your faithfulness.
Your Faithfulness Is Seen
Malachi 3:16 reminds us that God notices what people often overlook.
He sees the heart behind the action.
He knows the sacrifice behind the smile.
He knows the prayer behind the victory.
He knows the struggle behind the faith.
And He remembers those who honor Him.
So if you’re tired today, don’t give up.
If you feel unseen, keep going.
If you feel forgotten, remember:
God sees.
God hears.
God knows.
God remembers.
Your faithfulness matters. Your prayers matter. Your generosity matters. Your words matter. Your obedience matters.
Ultimately, the most important thing isn’t whether the world remembers your name. It’s whether you faithfully lived to honor His.
Never underestimate the value of a life faithfully lived for God.
When nobody else notices, He does.
When nobody else remembers, He does.
Keep going. Keep believing. Keep honoring God.
Your faithfulness is not forgotten.
The best is yet to come,
PD
