Remember Me
To be remembered is special. It’s a gift from God, and when we live for Him, He promises we will be remembered.
“They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor.” – Psalms 112:9
Even the thief on the cross asked Jesus to remember him, and he was saved:
“Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.’” – Luke 23:42
When we remember someone, it reflects the impact they’ve had on our lives. Their influence leaves a lasting imprint on our minds and hearts.
God remembers us, too!
He remembers what we do for Him—our prayers, our worship, our giving—and so much more. Nothing is wasted in Jesus. If He remembers us and all we do, we can trust that He is also moving on our behalf and helping us in ways we may not even see.
Knowing this builds our faith and keeps us focused on Jesus. It fuels our hope, reminding us that He is answering our prayers, making a way for us, and guiding us to where we need to be.
We know He remembers because He has a book of remembrance.
“Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In His presence, a book of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared Him and always thought about the honor of His name.” – Malachi 3:16
Notice that God keeps a record of those who fear Him, speak to each other about Him, and honor His name.
This book of remembrance is tied to worshiping God through our giving. In Malachi chapter 3, God calls His people back to giving because they had fallen away from it. He even says they had robbed Him by not giving their tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:8).
Yet, for those who returned to Him, a record was written of what they did. The book of remembrance preserves this record, and the Lord remembers.
So, how can we move forward?
1. Fear God.
Develop and cultivate a reverence for God—respect who He is and what He has done. This is a heart posture of worship, a humble acknowledgment of God’s greatness and our need for Him.
When we fear God, we draw closer to Him and farther away from sin. Our focus is on Jesus, and our hearts become tender in His presence. We’re not called to be afraid of God, but to have a fear of God that leads us to worship Him.
I encourage you to hate evil and love God!
2. Encourage each other.
In Malachi, they spoke to each other about God. There’s something powerful and spiritual in encouraging one another in Jesus.
Never underestimate the value of encouragement, which comes through connecting and sharing with others. It’s vital for our spiritual growth! And it’s easier when you’re surrounded by the right people—worshiping God is natural when you’re with those who also worship Him.
We need God, and we need each other. Let’s stay connected with the right people and build strong, life-giving community.
Who are you doing life with?
3. Honor God’s name.
His name is holy! It reveals who He is and what He does. One of the Ten Commandments is to not take His name in vain. This has always been important to God, and it should be important to us.
In the New Testament, God revealed His name through Jesus. In His name, there is peace, healing, freedom, deliverance, hope, authority, and life transformation. His name carries power, and when we say “Jesus,” something happens.
We honor His name by worshiping Him and exalting Him above all others. When Jesus is number one in our lives, everything else falls into order.
I encourage you to honor His name—Jesus is with you.
He remembers you, and He’s moving on your behalf. Keep going, and don’t give up. He has a great plan for your life, and it’s the best way!
Have a great week, and remember—the best is yet to come!
