Merry Christmas

I hope your family gatherings are meaningful, that the food is amazing and that the gifts are what you wanted. This is the most wonderful time of the year and as we connect with others and reflect, I pray our hearts are stirred to remember Jesus!

Jesus is the greatest Christmas gift anyone could have. He’s the reason why we have this holiday and from Him we have joy, peace, love, grace, mercy, redemption, new beginnings and so much more.

He is the gift that keeps on giving!

When Jesus was born, His life was unpacked for the world to receive. Out of the many things He brings, there are five that standout as distinct in who He is and what we can have this Christmas.

“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬

First, He is wonderful.

This literally means a miracle. Jesus is a miracle in His birth, His life, His mission, His death, His resurrection and His coming back. He is a miracle.

This is important because if He is a miracle, then He does miracles! Today, no matter what you’re facing, Jesus can do a miracle for you. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever.

Call Him and He will answer you.

Second, He is counselor.

This means, He resolves our conflicts. Jesus knows our issues and He has compassion toward us. What’s amazing is, He heals us and resolves the areas that are undone or out of order within our lives.

No matter what conflicts you’re facing, Jesus can do something about it. He came to give us life and His life more abundantly. He’s a way maker in the conflicts we face. Reach up for Him because He’s reaching back for you.

Third, mighty God.

This literally means our champion. Jesus is our champ and He’s undefeated. He’s conquered our enemy and now, we have that same victory in our own lives.

So, are you facing a battle today?

Jesus is your champion and His victory is your victory. He’s with you to overcome and be free from what is coming at you. He is your champion!

Fourth, He is our everlasting Father.

This means He is forever. There’s no end to end Jesus, He eternal and furthermore, we will be with Him forever too.

Our lives are finite and limited. But when we receive Jesus, we have eternal life through Him. Heaven is His city and we will be there with Him.

All of our friends and loved ones who have passed on are there now and one day we will see them and see Jesus face to face.

Fifth, He is our prince of peace.

This means He’s the captain of peace. I love this because peace is what everyone wants and it’s what everyone needs. His peace passes our understanding and it guards our hearts and minds.

So, when we receive the gift of Jesus, we can have His peace in our lives. We can have it when we don’t understand, when it doesn’t make sense and when we don’t have it figured out. That’s because His peace is beyond us!

Today, Jesus can give you His peace. He is the captain of peace and when He shows up, the storm ends. When He shows up, there’s a change.

Reach up and worship Him, pray to Him, and thank Him for what He’s done. He is your prince of peace.

Are you receiving the gift of Jesus?

Let Him have you. Let Him move in you and let Him do what only He can do.

I pray this is your best Christmas yet!
