New Beginnings

Today was a great day! It was amazing at City Church and I feel honored to be a part of a wonderful community. Then I got to officiate a wedding in a beautiful setting. It capped the day off as me and others, witnessed a new beginning for the bride and groom.

There’s something about new beginnings that we love and value as it speaks to hope and a chance to experience something more.

Today, people came to Jesus and experienced a new beginning in Christ. At the wedding, two people experienced a new beginning in becoming husband and wife and now, the journey begins.

In both places, New Beginnings are powerful as they represent the heart of God.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17

‬I love this verse.

Old things are gone and all things have become new!

This is what we all want because so many of us are navigating regret, shame and guilt. But in Jesus we have New Beginnings.

The hope of a better tomorrow is something we all want and in Jesus, this can be a reality. This doesn’t mean that everything will be easy or perfect but what it does mean, is that in Christ we can overcome and experience a great future.

But a new beginning isn’t only for the newlywed couple and those who have just received Christ, it’s for all of us.

It’s my belief that God wants to do new things in our lives as we follow Him. He wants to give new beginnings in our marriage, parenting, faith, friendships, career, and so much more. It never stops because God can do more than we ask or think.

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬

What New Beginnings can God give you?

Is it a new love for your spouse? A new love for your present and future? A new hope in recovery? A new life of faith? A new level of income? A new opportunity for work?

No matter what it is, God has New Beginnings for you. He has new things that can change your circumstance and give you a New Beginning.

My encouragement is this, reach up for the New thing God wants to do.

Please don’t let fear rob you and stubbornness block you from receiving what God has for your life.

There’s no doubt in my mind that if we’re going to see God do all He wants to do in us, we must let Him give us the New Beginnings He has for us. Life is too short to settle for what’s stale, when in Jesus we can have what’s New.

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭19‬

God has a New Beginning for you and the time is now to reach for it and to receive it.

The best is yet to come,

PD
