Beyond the Mirror

I love the quote from Helen Keller,

“The only thing worse than being blind, is having sight with no vision.”

It’s possible to be blind and have vision, and it’s possible to have sight and not have vision.

Vision is beyond sight, as it sees possibilities and opportunities that are invisible to others. This is profound because I believe if we can see it, God can do it!

This is what God did when He created the earth.

“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”

Hebrews‬ ‭11:3‬

God saw it first, then He spoke it and it came to be. I love that God is the Creator of the heavens and earth and creation reveals who He is (see Romans 1:20).

This is a pattern for us too.

We’re NOT God; however, we are children of God when we receive Jesus. From this truth, God wants to give us vision for our lives, our families, our work, our hope, and our future. This reaches beyond the mirror of what we see and sees something more.

This is where God wants to take us as He expands our lives and gives purpose to what we’re doing. God always enlarges and the enemy always shrinks.

In Christ we can have vision which stretches us for more. With the enemy, he wants us to live by what we see and thus, we shrink because we’re limited by our limits.

But we serve a God who does the impossible and He’s ready to give us a vision of what He can do through our lives.

“For we live by believing and not by seeing.”

‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7

Beyond the mirror is God’s plan for our lives but it takes believing over seeing. Heaven is our future and one day our faith will become sight. Until then, we live by believing and having a vision of what God can do and furthermore, what He wants to do!

However, it’s easy for us to live by what we see in the mirror and think, this is it. But it’s not!

Not in Christ!

He wants to do more than you’ve imagined and when we open our eyes to see it, He’s empowered to do it.

What do you see for your life?

Is it limited to the mirror? Or are you willing to look at the Word of God and see more?

Jesus has NOT called us to exist, He’s called us to thrive. He’s called us to triumph and have victory. He’s called us to make a difference and to see His great promises come to pass in our lives.

Living for Jesus is the adventure of a lifetime and when we see His vision for us, we’ll be enlarged, stretched, increased and fulfilled.

There will be challenges along the way, but in Christ, we have the answer to any problem we face.

So, now is the time and today is the day of seeing beyond the mirror. Let God give you a vision of what can be and reach for it in faith. Let God’s word give expectation of what He wants for your life.

This is why we have Vision Sunday at City because as a church, we chose to see beyond the mirror!

Move forward and let God give you more beyond the mirror.

Have a great day and the best is yet to come,

PD
