The Altitude of Our Attitude

It’s been said, life is ten percent physical and ninety percent attitude.

I believe it!

Our attitude has impact on every aspect of our lives and it determines how high we go. The altitude of our lives is determined by the attitude in our lives. This is deep because our attitude can hinder what God wants to do and it can limit His power.

This is what Jesus said when the people in Nazareth had bad attitudes that were displayed through unbelief.

“And because of their unbelief, He couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place His hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6. And He was amazed at their unbelief.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭6:5-6‬

Our attitude for better or for worse, impacts our connection to God. It’s the lens which we see God through and when it’s wrong, our view of God is wrong.

One of the definitions of attitude is “a feeling or way of thinking that affects a person’s behavior.”

Notice, it’s the feeling or way of thinking that affects our behavior. This is why this is so powerful. Literally, how we act and what we do, is linked to the attitude we have.

Wow!

This is intertwined with every aspect of our lives. It’s embedded in our conversations, expectations, outlook, hope, faith, love, faith, kindness and so much more. Furthermore, the condition of our attitude determines our obedience toward God. It’s from this place, that either God is being empowered in us or He is being quenched.

“Do not quench the Holy Spirit.”

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:19‬

However, if we can quench the Holy Spirit, we can also release the Holy Spirit.

When God forms our attitude to be what He wants, we will have the altitude He has for us!!

So, where is your attitude taking you today?

When we wait on the Lord, we are mounted up on wings of eagles, and we will run and not be weary, we will walk and not faint (see Isaiah 40:31).

So we can see that God’s altitude for us is high and soaring with Him. Conversely, the enemy wants us to be a chicken, plucking at the ground with a bad attitude.

I don’t know about you, but I choose to be an eagle and let God take me as high as He wants to.

We have one life to make an impact. We don’t have time for a bad attitude. We don’t have time to miss the altitude of His plan for our lives.

So how do we move forward?

One of best ways to have the right attitude is to be thankful.

Thanksgiving impacts our thoughts, our body, our energy and ultimately, our attitude.

The attitude of gratitude is real.

It’s so real that when we are thankful, it brings us into the presence of God.

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name.”

Psalms‬ ‭100:4‬

I believe wrong attitudes come from being unthankful. I also believe that the right attitudes come from being thankful.

This is where we start and when we’re thankful, our altitude is lifted to a higher place.

I encourage you today, be thankful. Let God flood you with joy when you think about all of the things He has done. This will shift your attitude into a new place which will then empower God to do all He wants to do.

There is so much God has for you and I believe, the best is yet to come. So choose to soar high with a right attitude.
