Have You Ever Cussed?

I have! So we know what an F Bomb is. It’s like the deepest level of a cuss word and when it’s used, stuff gets real.

But for this blog, there’s F Bombs that are the deepest level of our lives and when they’re healthy, life is maximized. Conversely when these are not healthy, life is frustrating.

These F Bombs are Faith, Family, Friends and Finances.

Think about it; nothing pushes more buttons in our lives than these F Bombs. These can be the source of so much joy and fulfillment, or they can be the source of so much pain.

The truth is, all of us have probably a little of both, joy and pain with these areas.

But here’s the good news, Jesus cares about these areas and wants us to thrive with them. This doesn’t mean they’ll be perfect, but it does mean they can be healthy.

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:23‬

This verse is one of the reasons why these areas can be healthy. God cares about them and if He cares about them, He has a plan for them.

So let’s look at these F Bombs one at a time.

Faith. We live by faith and not by sight (see 1 Corinthians 5:7). This is what we build our life on and WHO we build our life on. It’s Jesus and when we nurture our faith, everything in our lives can be strengthened.

This can’t be an afterthought or our emergency go to. This has to be our life because in God we live, have purpose and are changed.

I encourage you, make Jesus the center of your life! Let your faith be the foundation upon which you stand. When you do, you’ll make it through anything.

Family. He made a family before He made His church (see Genesis 2:22-24). His plan from the beginning is to bless a family and to see its impact for generations. Jesus has created a space in the family for support, strength, love, friendship and so much more.

I believe family is one of the greatest gifts God gives us; therefore, we must make it a priority. I encourage you to take time for your family, make time for your family and spend time with your family. We make memories by intentionally being together.

Friends. It’s better to have friends than to be alone (see Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). God made friends and wants us to have friends. He uses them to help us and vice versa. We need other people in our lives and we can’t do this alone.

Because of this we have to know that our friends determine our direction. Who are your friends? Choose people who challenge you in your faith and who encourage you to do right. Be with those that help carry burdens instead of causing them. Jesus wants us to have friends and furthermore, for those friendships to be healthy.

Finances. Jesus cares about our money (see Proverbs 3:9-10). In fact Jesus preached more about money than He did heaven or hell. This is because money can keep our heart from Him and rob us of a life with Him.

The truth is, we are stewards of our money and not the owners of it. That’s right! We are temporary, our money is temporary and what we have is temporary. Therefore, we are stewards of what He gives and how we handle our money has a lot to do with our heart and attitude.

I encourage you to let Jesus in your money. Give Him tithes and offerings. Trust Him and have a plan. God moves step by step in this area of our lives and He adds to us through our consistency. Let this be an area of celebration of joy, versus an area of tension and anger. God has more for you!

So how are the F Bombs in your life?

Here’s what I believe, these areas with Jesus, they can be the areas of joy, peace and life moments that impact generations.

God bless you and may the F Bombs in your life be blessed, healthy and thriving in Jesus.

The best is yet to come,

PD
