Truth and Grace
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. That saves a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found. Was blind but now I see.
Aren’t you glad for his amazing grace?
I know I am. The Grace of God gives us what we don’t deserve. We don’t earn it and salvation is a gift from God.
“God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”
Ephesians 2:8
Notice, we are saved by grace, through faith. Therefore, this is not because of us, but rather it’s because of Jesus.
He paid our debt, He took our place, He carried our sorrows and He healed our lives. Amazing grace is possible because of Jesus! It’s from Him and through Him; therefore, whoever calls on Him, will be saved.
The Grace of God is so profound, that once we get to heaven, we will learn of His grace in the ages to come. I’ve always thought, this shows us how big and deep the grace of God is.
“So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of His grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:7
But, the Grace of God is not for us to habitually do wrong and still be saved. But rather the Grace of God is the empowerment to become a new person in Jesus.
This is important because Jesus was full of Grace and Truth.
“So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of Grace and truth. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” John 1:14
John 1:14
Grace empowers us to be saved and to walk as a new person.
Truth is the foundation we build our lives upon, to be strong in what we believe and in who we believe.
Notice, Jesus gives grace and is truth.
He’s both and therefore, we need both in our lives to be balanced and steady.
In Jesus we have life change. Meaning He takes our old life and the patterns we did, and changes us into who He wants us to be.
He’s God, therefore, we defer to His ways and His thoughts for us, because they are better than ours. It’s from these ways and thoughts, that we can become who He created us to be.
In Jesus we have healing. Meaning, what we’ve been through is our story, not our destination. In fact, it’s the chapters in our story, that adds to the journey of His grace in our lives.
Only Jesus can take what was meant for evil and turn it for good. He takes our bruises and gives us blessings. He takes our mistakes and gives us mercy. He uses our pain and gives us purpose. He takes our confusion and gives a confession of faith.
This is Jesus, full of grace and truth.
What does this look like?
In the process of us becoming someone new, we have His grace. In the process of us doing life, we have His truth to build our lives on Him and not be shaken. This gives us what we need and it gives us what we believe. Both are vital for us to do life with Jesus.
Grace is freely given, will you receive it?
Truth is a way of living, will you build on it?
Jesus is the answer for our lives today! So I encourage you, be rooted in Christ. Go deep with God and let His grace empower you daily. Go deep with God and choose His truth to be your foundation.
In doing this, we will receive Grace and Truth, and not be shaken.
Like the old song says, “Jesus is the answer for the world today, above Him there’s no other, Jesus is the way.”
It’s simple! Jesus!
Let’s his Grace and Truth fill your life today.
God is for you and the best is yet to come,
