The best life

Everyone wants, the best life!

We’re born with this desire, as God created us to maximize our days and fulfill our purpose. This in itself is the best life; however, we struggle with living it and having peace through it.

Why is that?

It’s because the idea of the best life, is scattered into a bunch of varying definitions that lead to less work and being on vacation for the rest of your days.

Notice for many, the best life is not working and doing as little as possible to enjoy the moments they have. While this sounds good, and trust me, I love a beach vacation, this is short-sided and inward focused. In the end, this doesn’t lead to purpose and the fulfillment of, the best life.

Now, it’s my hope everyone can retire and enjoy their post working years with family, friends and doing the things they love. This is great and there’s nothing wrong with it. In fact, this is my goal for Sumer and I.

But, we can retire and still understand what the best life is and have fulfillment at the same time. This is because the best life starts by letting God change our hearts and fill us with His spirit.

This is where life begins and really, in Jesus, it never ends!

The best life through God is, giving our hearts to Him to be healed, redeemed and made new. From this place of wholeness, comes the purpose of being a part of something bigger than ourselves. When we live this way, we’re not spending time, but rather we’re investing time into those around us and the dividend is seen both now and in eternity.

“And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”

1 John 2:17

This verse articulates for us, what the best life is.

We see that, this world is fading meaning, everything the devil uses is temporal and hollow. The lust of our desire, the lust of our eyes and the pride of life, are fantasies that only lead to ruin and an unfulfilled life.

This is because nothing in this world can do for us what God can do. It’s in Him that we live, move and have our being (see Acts 17:28).

Our best life is finding His life and giving ourselves to Him. This is where we thrive! This is where we’re accepted! This is where we’re healed! This is where we’re made new! This is where we’re protected! This is where we’re fulfilled!

So you see, the best life is living for God and being a part of His purpose. It’s living for something bigger than ourselves, giving to something beyond our ability and being a team for a mission that is beyond our role.

This is what we we’re made for.

Everyone wants to live forever, but way too many don’t live right now. The only way to have both, is to live for Jesus!

The best life, are you living it?

Wherever you are in the journey of faith, please move closer to Jesus. Give Him your heart and be a part of what He is doing in the world. In doing so, you will grow, be challenged, be changed, be fulfilled and have, the best life!

Love you and the best is yet to come,

PD
