Victory

Victory! This is what everybody wants for their lives.

In fact, I believe it’s inherent as something inside of us wants to triumph. Think about it, no one starts out in life wanting to lose and furthermore, choosing failure as the best course for their life. This in itself goes against something in us that is reaching for Victory.

Since we are made in the image and likeness of God (see Genesis 1:26), the desire for Victory that is in us, is from Him. He specifically made us for this time and for a direct purpose. He didn’t make an accident in creating us and He didn’t forget about our arrival.

The truth is, He wove us in our mother’s womb and He fashioned our days before we got here (see Psalms 139:14-17). He did this with a design in mind for our lives and a part of that design, is Victory!

However, we all know that the battles of life are many and the daily grind can be overwhelming. Therefore, it’s easy over time, to slowly lose the edge of desire and the will to overcome the odds against us. It’s my belief too many people give up, when they don’t have to.

We don’t have to give up because, God is with us! He has plans that are good for us and to bring us to a good outcome (see Jeremiah 29:11).

So how can we have Victory in our lives?

After all, life in Jesus is not perfect and there are battles along the way, so how can we have Victory?

The answer is Jesus!

“My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.”

Psalms 62:7

‭‭Notice, Jesus is our Victory. It’s from this truth that He is our honor, He is our refuge and the rock where we’re protected.

I love this because we see so much power in this verse.

First, we acknowledge that Jesus is our victory. It’s through Him we win in life, period.

Second, our honor is Jesus. This means, our desire is to please Him more than to please others. It’s His approval that matters most and it’s His favor we seek, above that of others.

Third, He is our refuge and rock, where the enemy can’t reach us. I love this because in Jesus, the devil can’t get to us. This speaks to God be our protecting refuge, and it means building our lives on Him as our rock.

This means, we do our life, His way. We let Him dictate what we do and how we respond to the things around us. We do relationships, His way. We do money, His way and we let our hearts be created clean,  His way.

When this happens, the storms of life will not defeat us. The trials of life will not wear us down. The disappointments along the way, will not rob our worship and the setbacks will not stop the comebacks God has planned.

Oh yes, Victory comes when Jesus is the rock upon which our lives are built and anchored to.

So, we know God will do His part, now it’s our turn, to make Him the rock of our lives. From this place, Victory will come!

What victory are you reaching for?

Begin today, and let Jesus be your rock.

I’m believing 2022 is the year of Victory! So why not for you and why not now? He’s ready to be your Victory.

May God bless you and the best is yet to come,

PD
