Jesus is the People’s Champ

This is because, He paid the price for everyone, so He could give everyone eternal life. Furthermore, we can have His promises in our lives now. This is amazing because, we don’t deserve it and we can’t earn it, this is why it’s grace.

Right now, this is news we need because so much is happening, that’s it’s easy to be distracted. Covid-19, vaccinations, masks, political tension, strife, and division are just some of the things because then, we have our own stuff to navigate too. Yeah, it’s a lot and the emotional pull of it all is more than we know.

In fact, I believe the bombarding of it all has burdened us beyond what we feel because truly, the last year and a half has been a roller coaster that hasn’t stopped.

Another aspect of this is, with these topics, we find ourselves with our opinions and convictions, and rightfully so. Which in this climate, can often find ourselves on the other side of the table from family and friends, which is another thing to navigate. The vitriol in having a different view is concerning.

BUT THERE’S HOPE TODAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS AND IT’S JESUS!

Right now more than ever, we need to remember and look to, the People’s Champ!

Our hope can only be in Jesus! Our focus can only be on Jesus! Our strength can only be in Jesus! Our peace can only be in Jesus! The expectation of our future can only be in Jesus!

This is our challenge because so many other things are screaming at us daily. These things are wanting to pull our focus away from Jesus and thus, get caught up in the emotional roller coaster that’s happening right now. The problem is, this hurts our mission to love God and love people.

Therefore, we must keep our eyes on Jesus!

“We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”

Hebrews 12:2

Notice, He’s the People’s Champ who initiates and perfects our faith. Furthermore, He endured shame so He could remove our shame! He endured shame, to be honored in heaven to now, pray for us (see Hebrews 7:25).

Wow! Right now Jesus is praying for you and me. He’s praying and the Holy Spirit is moving for God’s will to be done in our lives.

What a comfort that Jesus is praying for us.

So today I encourage you, don’t let the mess around you, be the mess in you. Don’t let the distraction around you, be a distraction in you. Don’t let the division around you, be a division within you. God has something better; therefore, let’s keep our eyes on the People’s Champ!

This is how we overcome!

Is anything distracting you today? Shake it off, and redirect your focus onto Him. Our lives are better when He’s number one. Our lives are peaceful when He’s number one. Our purpose is clear when He’s number one. Our willingness to overcome ourselves and others is strong when He’s number one.

Therefore, it’s my encouragement to read God’s word and to pray daily. In doing this, you will have His thoughts and His ways go deeper in you.

Look up, your salvation is near (Luke 22:28).

Jesus is with you, keep looking to Him.

Have a great week and the best is yet to come.
