Have you ever made an exchange with someone? This being a gift or something of value that you exchanged with another person. We think of this specifically around Christmas and birthdays and with our culture, we all have experienced this at some level.
These moments can leave an imprint on our lives, that give memories we’ll never forget. What exchange has done this for you?
For me, one Christmas we got stuffed animals that had the previous year on them. So, we got the teddy bears a year late, which now we always laugh about as a moment an exchange forever marked us.
But on a deeper level, we can have a daily exchange with God!
That’s right. We can receive things from heaven on a daily basis that fortify our lives, heal our soul and give direction with our purpose. It’s from this promise that I believe prayer is momentous for our faith.
This is because prayer is how we receive His daily exchange. Since we can’t see Jesus in person, how do we give Him the things on our heart? How do we give Him the things that only He can take from us? The answer is prayer!
Prayer is the way to give to God what’s in our lives and it’s the way, we receive what He has in heaven. Right now, we can receive what heaven has which is, peace, provision, health, direction, clarity, hope, courage and new beginnings. Anything we need, God has and when we pray, we participate in this daily exchange.
“7. Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”Matthew 7:7-8
Notice the promise, when we ask we receive, when we seek we shall find, and when we knock the door will be open. This speaks of the daily exchange that God wants us to participate in. Therefore, when we pray this empowers you and I to receive from Jesus!
What do you need to exchange today?
Maybe you have fear, anxiety, worry, lack, sickness, anger, resentment and more that you can give Him. Because when you give Him these things, He’ll give faith, peace, trust, supply, forgiveness, freedom and more. Notice, when we give Him our junk, He gives us His treasures!!
Not a bad exchange if you ask me, and this can happen daily for us.
So often, the enemy wants us to exchange with him which leaves us worse than we were before. He wants to fuel our anger, fear, bitterness and the desire to get even. He wants to multiply on our trouble and deepen the wound in our lives. No one wants this because this exchange makes no sense; however, when we don’t go to God, the enemy can take what we have and make it worse.
But, when I purpose to pray, the enemy is defeated and I can participate in the daily exchange from heaven.
I want to encourage you today, there is nothing you need that God doesn’t have. He can do anything for you and your family! He is willing and ready to make any exchange with you when you pray. Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened.
I believe today, you can begin this daily exchange with heaven when you pray. So start where you’re at and talk to God like you talk to anyone else. He’s ready to listen and He’s ready to make a daily exchange with you!
May the Lord bless you and may He do more than you ask or think in your life!
The best is yet to come,
