Thank You Mom

Have you noticed how powerful Mom can be in our lives and in our families? In fact, so much happens around Mom that it’s hard to define. It’s like, the love and appreciation goes so deep because it impacts us so much!

Now I know, for many, this topic affects us differently. For some, our Mom has passed away and all we have is the memories of yesterday. For others, maybe Mom was a challenge and so, pain is connected to what was or even what is happening today. If this is the case for you, I’m sorry for your loss and struggle. It’s real and it’s not easy as we move forward in life.

So, this blog is to strengthen our appreciation for Mom or to inspire you to be the Mom you wanted for yourself.

Either way, this is a special time of year because, we get the chance to celebrate Mother’s Day and to recognize what God placed in families with a Mom.

In God’s design, a Mom has the ability to love, to build and to create a home. I believe this is a part of the treasure a wife can be mentioned in Proverbs 18:22.

The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.

Proverbs 18:22

In this treasure can be a wealth of love, care and impact that’s revealed especially through being a Mother.

This is because God gave Moms the ability to build a home and to create a home. There’s something about a mother’s touch that is different from any other, and It can change the paradigm of the family environment like no other.

This is specified in Proverbs 14:1 when it says,

A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

Proverbs 14:1

Notice, a wise woman builds her home and way one this happens is through a mother’s touch. This is why when you think of all the meals, all the car rides, all the talks, all the love, all the care, all the late nights and all the behind the scenes effort, all we can say is, Thank you, Mom!

I believe being a Mom is the opportunity to not only give birth to a life, but also to build a life to its full potential. It’s the chance to see what faith, love and care can do for someone when given freely. Because in truth, it’s a selfless job and many times, unappreciated. However, this is why I’m writing this blog because, it’s good for all of us to say, Thank you, Mom!

Oh yes, through all the missteps, imperfections and maybe blunders, Mom deserves a thank you for giving birth to our lives and giving us the chance to live. In doing so, they carried us for nine months, so God could have the chance to carry us through our lifetime to make a difference and find Him! This in itself is a lot and then all the other things that go into being Mom, wow, Thank you!

Today I want to encourage you in two ways.

First, for all of us, let’s have thanksgiving toward our moms. We owe her more than we know and no matter what did or didn’t happen, being thankful is a big step in being whole and healed. It’s the perspective of gratitude that defeats the poison of bitterness in our lives. It’s also the place where we can find peace and joy with what we have verses what we don’t have.

Second, to all the ladies, please determine to be a Mom or a Mother figure for someone that builds their lives to be what God has for them. This is the chance of a lifetime because you get to mold them through love and lead in the way they should go. It’s in this place that they prosper, flourish and discover who God made them to be. This is what matters most and this is where we truly find ourselves! You can do this and I believe God has put in you what you need to thrive in this role!

So, Thank you, Mom! You’ve done more than you’ll ever know and I’m better because of you!

Happy Mother’s Day and you be showered with love for all that you have done!

God bless you all and the best is yet to come!
