So here we are in 2021! We’ve made it through a Tumultuous year and yet, we have the chance to start again. That’s the beauty of every new year in that, it’s an opportunity to do things different and to do them better than the year before.
There’s no doubt we’re all glad that 2020 is over and yet now, we have to decide what we will make of 2021. Life is too short to let us live in the past and it’s also too short to not be in the moment and let it slip away. God has called us to be in this generation to make a difference in this generation for Him; therefore, living in the moment is huge for all of us.
This is because everyday is a gift and we must unpack it to make it count. So often we go through days, weeks, months and years with our minds stuck in the past or wondering in the future. The problem is, when we do this, we’re missing the moments right in front of us and these are the most precious because it’s now.
Billy Joel has a great song titled, This is the time to remember. One line says, “This is the time to remember because it will not last forever. These are the days to hold onto, but we won’t although we want to. This is the time, the time is going to change. You’ve given me the best of you, but now I need the rest of you.”
This is a powerful message that’s hard to learn but necessary to truly live. This is because, when we live in the moment, we’re fully present, taking in what we do have and making the most of it. We’re connecting to those around us as gifts that God has given us and we’re living with purpose to make a difference RIGHT NOW!
Have you noticed how many times we say, “I’ll give when this happens” or “I’ll do my purpose when I have everything in order.”
These thoughts keep us stuck from doing what we know to do because we’re thinking we can’t until….
But we can’t afford this because as we saw last year, you never know what we’re going to face next, so we must do what we know to do NOW.
This is what the Bible says in Psalms 90:12 says,
“So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Notice, when we number our days and live in the present, we’ll have a heart of wisdom and this is where we thrive. This is where we rise in purpose and power in our lives. This is where we live in the moment and make a difference in our lifetime.
Therefore, in 2021 we must live in the moment and we must do our best in the days we have. So, we must think of our connection to God, our family, our friends, our work, and our church and how we make the best of this NOW. We need to think of how we love fully and give fully to those God has given us so we leave a legacy that lives past us.
Isn’t this what we want? Of course!
Everyone wants a life that counts; therefore, when we count our days, we’ll make them count!
So what goals do you have this year? What do you want for this year?
God will help it happen! God will lead you to victory and He will be with you one step at a time. This is our year to do better and to be better in what we have and who we have in our lives.
This is our year to give all we can and make a difference in the generation we live in!
So please believe, you can make an impact. You can make a difference and you can leave a legacy for generations to come. Seize the moment and seize the day!
Move forward this year and count your days to make them count!
Love you all and may 2021 be the best year yet.
