PeaceFULL

After last year, there’s no doubt all of us could use more peace. In fact, I believe this is the greatest commodity needed today in the lives of people all over the world.

For us in America, we’re walking out a political transition that is still tense. We’re also still navigating COVID-19 and the next steps we’re going to take as individuals and as a nation. On top of that, we’re dealing with our own stuff, which can easily be magnified by what’s going on around us. All of this has caused us to need peace more than ever.

But how can we be PeaceFULL?

After all, this is what the world is seeking as people reach for peace through money, fame, social media status, right clothes, right look and so much more. But we all know inherently these things don’t work! However, this cycle is repeated over and over again, thus people everywhere are tormented with a lack of peace.

So how can we be PeaceFULL?

Notice what Paul shows says in Philippians 4:7-8.

“7. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 8. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:7-8

Notice, we are to pray about everything!! But isn’t this a challenge?

Of course it is because we’re over stimulated by all of the technology and information coming at us everyday. From this, our attention span is shortening which only causes us to be distracted more frequently when we try to pray. But to be PeaceFULL we have to make a decision to pray first!

This means prayer becomes a part of me. It’s in my schedule, in my heart, in my mind and in my spirit. It becomes my outlet of frustrations, concerns, weaknesses, fears and more. It’s me giving to God what I can’t do, knowing that He can do something about it and when this happens, I become PeaceFULL!

Notice, when we pray it lifts us to be thankful, which then leads us to having His peace that guards our heart and mind. I love how His peace specifically guards our hearts and minds. These are the two areas that often go crazy on a daily basis and yet through Jesus, we can be PeaceFULL in both of them.

Isn’t this what we need right now?

I believe it is, which means, we need Jesus!!

As we start this year, I encourage you to refocus your heart and affection onto Jesus! Let Him be your number one priority. Let Him be your anchor through all the uncertainty going on right now. Set aside the political bantering, set aside the COVID-19 arguments, set aside the social media tension and run to Jesus. Come close to Him and return to your first passion for Him.

It’s from this challenge, that I invite you to join us in our 21 days of prayer and fasting, ‘from January 10th thru the 30th.’ This is a great way to pray first, be thankful and then to receive the peace of God that guards our heart and mind. It’s a great way to be PeaceFULL!

I think it’s important to remember, we can have peace in us when there is no peace around us. This is only because of Jesus!

This is huge because we’re going to have hard moments and things will not always go our way. We’re going to be tempted and distracted but, we can overcome and be PeaceFULL because of who we have in us.

What are you worried about today??

Whatever it is, there’s a answer for it and it’s Jesus. Decide right now, 2021 will be a PeaceFULL year in you because of who is in you. Make the decision to pray first, be thankful and then receive the peace that guards your heart and mind.

So what can you fast for 21 days?

Be a part and see what God can do when you give Him something to work with. Move

forward and watch how you will be PeaceFULL!
