What’s Next?

2020 has been unpredictable, sad, and unsettling to say the least. Everything has changed in a short time and yet we still have to navigate, What’s Next?

So many have been saying, a new normal is here both now and in the days ahead. This idea of a new normal hits me in different ways.

I’m already longing for the good ole days that were just here a few months ago, in early March. I realize how I took for granted going to a restaurant and not thinking about it. Or going shopping wherever I wanted and having a good time. Furthermore, going to a sporting event or watching one when I could.

These are just a few things I think about, but there’s so much more.

In reality, we’ve all lost a lot in some ways during this time; moreover, it may not come back the way we had it before. All of this gives me mixed emotions as I think about, What’s Next?

I think about my family, our church, our city, our schools, our nation, and the world. Where this will take us, is still unknown; however, we don’t have to know the details because Jesus does! And this is where I get my confidence from!

Through all this chaos, God is with us. Through all this upheaval and multiple agendas, God is with us. Through all of this strife, God is our healer, and through all of this tension, God is our protector.

So no matter What’s Next, our confidence is in Jesus.

“And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.”

Isaiah 32:17

Notice, the righteousness we receive in Christ, will produce in us, peace and confidence. This is huge right now as the waters of humanity are troubled toward one another and toward God.

So, through the unknown of What’s Next, we can have peace and confidence in whatever comes our way.

This is what everyone wants and everyone can have it through Jesus. He’s the centerpiece of our peace and confidence. He’s the source of our lives and He’s the source of our present and future.

He’s what we need as we step into What’s Next.

Do you have peace today? Do you have confidence today?

Jesus is our source for this and when we have Him, it doesn’t matter What’s Next because He’s on our side.

So today, your future is promising. Your tomorrow is waiting for you with purpose and the best is yet to come.

This is true because of His heart for us in Jeremiah 29:11.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Therefore, in Jesus What’s Next for us is good things, a future, hope, peace, and confidence.

Believe this today! Our lives are in His hands and this is what we can look forward to and this is what we stand on through Him.

So I pray His blessings over you and I pray His peace and confidence flood your soul and give you hope for What’s Next!
