Don’t Quit!

Have you ever wanted to quit something?

I know I have. Many times in my life I’ve felt the strain and pressure to give up and quit what I started. These are the moments I felt it was too hard and above my ability to navigate. Sound familiar? I think all of us have been there in some way because anything that has value will be tested. This is important to remember as we do life through God. Not everything will be easy or smooth, in fact there will be battles and struggles as we reach for more. Giving our hearts to Jesus is not a promise of an easy-life but rather it’s a promise to overcome life through our faith. The truth is, we all feel like quitting but when we decide to stand, miracles happen.

It’s my belief, we are one prayer away from a miracle.

A lot of us quit before our answer comes and the number one reason why we quit is timing. We take delay as denial and we think it’s not going to happen. From this disappointment comes a monster as it stirs us to anger, frustration and unbelief. This is easy to do in the middle of struggle as you pray but it gets worse and you do everything you know to do, but it doesn’t happen. These circumstances and more fuel our doubts and tempt us to quit prematurely, leaving us confused and baffled in our faith. Too many of us end up at this place and yet God has better for us!

So Don’t Quit!

He has victory and answers for our prayers. Our greatest moments are started through the fire of adversity. Our greatest miracles come through our greatest need and our greatest victories come through our greatest battles. We must take heart that Jesus is our shepherd; therefore, He provides all we need. Notice He provides all we need and not all that we want. There is a big difference and we can get confused with this topic. The goal of God in our lives is to forge us into who He wants us to be and that happens with victories and with struggle. We are formed in His image and likeness by standing firm because we love Him. We are often changed the most when we Don’t Quit, allowing His process to work through our lives. This secret to our faith is simple yet profound, Don’t Quit! God has answers coming to you today. He’s fighting your battles today. Our job is to keep praying, keep asking and keep seeking because He moves through our prayers.

Here’s a couple of promises we have through the Word of God.

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

1 John 4:4

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

Matthew 7:7

Notice, because Jesus is within us, we have the victory. This means, it’s only a matter of time before the answer comes. The enemy can’t stop what God wants to do in our lives unless we quit and give up. As long we’re standing, no matter with strength or barely holding on, we will win. Our enemy loves to use time as a weapon against us but our God is above time, living beyond it’s limitation. He does everything perfect in His time because He knows the end from the beginning. All we see is the present but Jesus goes before us making our way straight and setting the stage for complete peace and provision.

We also see in Matthew that our job is to ask, seek and knock and to keep doing this until the answer comes. This speaks to tenacious faith. A faith that doesn’t quit but keeps pressing in no matter what. Special talent is not needed to do this, we just need to make the decision; I’m not quitting. This is a decision that sets our heart and mind on Jesus! When I look consistently to Him, I will not quit, I will not fade and I will not whither. When I keep looking to Jesus I can walk through the valleys, I can walk through the blessings and I will walk through His open doors. When I look to Jesus I’m bold as a lion and I’m empowered to keep going.

Don’t give up today, God is moving toward you.

I encourage you to stand firm. Don’t throw in the towel, but rather go one more round and let Jesus fight your battle. Give Him your marriage. Give Him your kids. Give Him your finances. Give Him your heart. He knows what we don’t and He’s perfect in all His ways. I don’t know how and when He will come through, but I know He will because He has every answer you’ve asked for, so Don’t Quit!

God loves you and I believe that the best is yet to come.

Something good is going to happen for you, this very day.
