Keep Going

One of the greatest things we can do in life, is to keep going. There’s something about determination that no matter what comes our way, we keep going. What I’m speaking about is an attitude versus skill or ability; therefore, anyone can do it.

Great things happen when we keep going!

Our lives are filled with challenges and even setbacks at different points. Yet, there is power when we look to God for help and we keep going no matter what. Nothing has been accomplished in this world that hasn’t had someone who kept going through hard circumstances and the unknown. It’s through these moments that greatness has been discovered, where the breakthrough happened and where Jesus showed up.

Our most memorable moments are when we chose to keep going, believing that something was happening. In fact, did you know that when we make this decision, God begins to move.

We grow closer to God. We practice our faith. We move forward one step at a time. We don’t give up. We give God a chance to move and so much more. When we keep going we declare to opposition, you won’t stop me and you have no power over me. We’re declaring I believe God above anything else; therefore, I keep going.

Just think about this from God’s word.

Abraham kept going by believing for the promise of a son. Moses kept going by believing that God would lead his people to the promised land. Daniel kept going when they threatened to snuff out his life. The woman with an issue of bleeding kept going until she touched Jesus. The blind man kept reaching and asking Jesus for his sight until he received. Jesus kept going, all the way to the cross, then to the grave, then out of the grave in the power of the resurrection. Yes, our God has kept going and if He has, then so can you and I.

Isaiah 40:31 says –
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
‭‭
Notice the verse says, we will find new strength. There are times in our lives where we must have new strength from God to keep going. This is the secret that keeps us going day by day, trusting that something is happening beyond our ability. It’s awesome to have new strength as we navigate all the ups and downs of life.

So how do we keep going?

This verse gives the answer to this question. When we wait on the Lord, our strength is made new and we walk and run without getting wore out. This is amazing, yet it’s revealed in waiting on the Lord.

This word waiting is not waiting by sitting on a couch, doing nothing. Rather this word actually means waiting on God like a waitress or a waiter. It’s yielding to Him and asking Him, “What would you like from my life today?” This is where we are empowered. This is where we are changed. This is where we keep going for Jesus.

Notice the change of position when we wait on the Lord. Instead of us thinking He waits on us, giving us our demands, we wait on Him, serving Him and yielding to Him what He asks of us. This is big! It’s right and this is where miracles happen.

It’s possible for us to keep going day by day. It’s possible to move forward one step at a time and it’s possible to see God answer all your prayers. The issue is, will we keep going? This is possible we when we wait on Him.

Who are you waiting on today?

Is it a dream, a person, money, approval or something else? Above all things we must seek Jesus and wait on Him because when we do, anything can happen.

No matter what you’re facing today keep going. No matter what you’re feeling today keep going. No matter what you’re thinking today keep going. God is with you and His plans are good to give you hope and an expected end.

May you wait on God and give Him what He asks because when you do, anything is possible.

Have a great week,
PD
