What pleases God?
What pleases God?
The greatness of God is unparalleled. He owns the world as He is the creator of it. He knows everything. He’s everywhere and He has all power to do anything. This is the God that we serve and He is revealed through Jesus.
God is eternal and since no one created Him, He’s always been. He is the author and the finisher of our individual faith journey and He delights in every detail of our lives. He moves through us by the power of the Holy Spirit so that we know Him on a personal level. Yes, this God that we serve is amazing and it will take eternity for us to discover His beauty and to worship Him because of who He is.
Yet what pleases God?
This is fascinating because of all the things He has and of all the things that He is, it’s our faith that pleases Him. Remember, this is faith through imperfect people that at times get it right and at other times to get it wrong. His goodness is forever and His grace is amazing. His love is unconditional and His greatest treasure is our heart. So above anything, it’s our faith that pleases God.
“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6
Notice we please God through our faith and He rewards us who sincerely seek Him.
So how much faith do we need to please God?
Any amount of faith is enough for Him to use. In fact, Jesus said if we have mustard seed faith, we can move mountains. This is why for all of us, it doesn’t matter if we have small faith because we have a big God. He takes what we have and does something with it that we can’t do. This is because He’s God and we’re not.
So many times we are caught up on what we don’t have that we miss what we do have. It’s easy to forget that God can do miracles with any amount faith. There’s an old song that says, “faith, you don’t need a whole lot, just use what you got.” The truth is, God is waiting on us to step toward Him with our something. It doesn’t matter if it’s small or big in size, all that matters is that we give it to Him so He can do something with it. This is the great truth of walking with Jesus. We give Him what we have and He multiplies it. We must remember He’s the one that does the impossible, our job is to give Him something to use.
When we physically move forward, God steps into action. Throughout the Bible people took a step of obedience, which triggered the response of God. We can’t forget this! One man dipped in a river and was healed. One lady took jars and poured out oil enough to fill every jar she had. Another gave her last meal to a prophet and then suddenly had enough food for both her and her son. Four friends tore up a roof to lower a man who was crippled, who then was healed by Jesus. Over and over again people gave God small faith for big answers and their need was met. I believe He still does these things today.
So I encourage you, show your faith this year. Put your words into action and invest in eternity. Be a part of something more than just you. Live life to please God and be a part of what He’s doing, so you can have what He has.
Please don’t underestimate small faith. It can move mountains because when we give Him something to work with, miracles happen.
What can you give God today?
Whatever your answer is, take that step and see what He can do. Let the adventure of faith grip your life and may you glorify God in a whole new way. So don’t worry if you have small faith because you have a big God. Have a great day and may God answer all your prayers.
The best is yet to come,
