God’s Good Hand
I believe the fundamental truth that God is good. His intent is to save and heal lives, not to destroy them. His eternal plan is to have as many people as possible with Him forever. In fact, He’s preparing a place for you and I right now. He’s so concerned and excited about having us with Him, that He is working toward our arrival. This is amazing love! Wow!
The importance of this doctrine is crucial as it sets the stage of how we see God and what we expect from Him. Everything about Him is good and He exudes mercy and compassion. Even when the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, it’s God’s love drawing us to Him so that we have healing and life change.
Yes, He’s completely good, which is why the Bible says, even His hands are good.
He reaches out and touches us, heals us, saves us, provides for us and does so much more with His hands. The scribe Ezra said, the good hand of my God was upon me (Ezra 7:28). He used this phrase to describe favor and protection as he was leading God’s people. His hand was guiding him, keeping him and bringing good things to him. All of this was to fulfill God’s purpose in his life and to empower him with success.
I believe this is happening for us too!
During this time of prayer and fasting we are giving more of ourselves to God, so His purpose is fulfilled in us. We also have the promise that throughout our day and responsibility, His good hand is upon us. Meaning, He’s protecting us, He’s opening doors and He’s making a way where it seems impossible. Yes, when His hand rests on us, anything can happen. His favor changes everything. However, His favor comes when we set ourselves apart for Him and for His purpose. This is our greatest privilege and greatest honor.
“So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor.”
1 Peter 5:6
Notice, we humble ourselves under His hand. This is the part we play in the promise of His good hand being upon us. Prayer and fasting is a way we humble ourselves before Him. Therefore, I encourage you to believe His good hand is upon you. Expect something good to happen. Expect something supernatural to happen.
He can do the impossible, He does miracles and He takes what was meant for our evil and turns it for His good. This is His nature. This is who He is and He’s willing and able to put His good hand over you.
When we humble ourselves under His hand, we’re giving Him the chance to promote us and to fulfill His plan in His time. This is huge as we yield control and let Him lead and guide us in the big and small things. We must believe that He delights in every detail of our lives and that He knows what’s best in every situation.
What are you praying about?
God knows what it is and He knows exactly how to answer it. Let His hand come on you, give yourself to Him and believe that the best is yet to come. Let the first month of 2019 be a time of aligning yourself with what He has, setting the stage for the best year of your life.
I pray His protection over you and I pray that He remembers everything you give to Him. I believe God is watching over you and that His hand is covering you, even today. I speak blessings over you and your family and all that you do. God is good and His mercy endures forever.
Happy fasting! I’m believing with you,
PD
