Restart

Happy New Year!

This time of year gives us the chance to Restart and move forward into new things. For some this is inspiring and for others this can be overwhelming, based on what we’ve been through and what we’re feeling. However, I believe God gives us new beginnings and He always has good things for you and me.

I love the fact that we have a chance to Restart and do better than we’ve done before. We can make adjustments, write out our goals and move forward with intentionality daily. This opportunity gives us hope as we align our hearts to believe that the best is yet to come.

So how do we Restart?

I believe there’s no better way than to have a set time of prayer and fasting. All throughout the scriptures God’s people had times of prayer and fasting, to believe God for something big. Over and over again great things happened when His people set a time to align their heart with His. And because God is the same yesterday, today and forever, He still does great things when we set a time to seek Him.

So what do you want God to do in 2019?

Whatever your answer, taking the time to Restart is essential to preparing ourselves for what He has. Our expectation is the breeding ground for miracles, so take your next step. Begin the year right and as you pray and fast, believe God for big things because He is able.

Notice these promises for you.

“Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

Jeremiah 33:3

“I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?”

Jeremiah 32:27

“13. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!”

John 14:13-14

“You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.”

John 16:24

“For nothing is impossible with God.”

Luke 1:37

These are just a few of His good things for us and they are true and real. In fact, He doesn’t discriminate, meaning all of His promises are for anyone who comes to Him. Isn’t our God great? He’s for you and He’s with you! Dare to believe that He will do amazing things in 2019.

However, prayer and fasting doesn’t bribe God. It doesn’t twist His arm to move and it doesn’t buy a miracle from Him. That’s not right. Yet, prayer and fasting does align us with God to receive what He has. Prayer and fasting also prepares a place for God to move. So many stories in the Bible reveal that God moves when His people pray and fast. It was the point of their faith touching Him which released His answers and His power. The same will happen for you.

He’s a prayer answering God!

I encourage you to Restart with us from January 6th-26th. We’ll have daily verses, daily prayer themes and videos you can access on social media to help give focus to what we’re doing as a team.

We’ll also have daily prayer during these 21 days from 6:30am-7:30am. Then at night, we’ll have prayer on Wednesday’s the 9th, the 16th and the 23rd from 7pm-8pm. At the end of each prayer time together, we’ll go into the new building and write the names of loved ones, friends, neighbors and co-workers on the sanctuary floor as a memorial believing God will save them. It’s going to be powerful!

What can God do for you in 2019?

I believe He can do miracles! I believe He can do the impossible; therefore, our decision to Restart will set the tone for the whole year. So I encourage you, before this Sunday, pray about what you can fast. Write out your prayer requests and believe that God will answer them. The time is now and victory is upon us! I pray you’re inspired to Restart in 2019. It’s going to be a great year.

Happy New Year and the best is yet to come,
PD
