Tomorrow is Going to be Great

How was 2018 for you?

I hope it was great, yet I know for some it wasn’t. It seems every year brings challenges and victories which causes us to navigate the good, the bad and the ugly. No one is exempt and this time of year can overwhelm us with different feelings and emotions. Our soul is real. It computes where we’ve come from and what we’ve been through, therefore, being close to Jesus is vital. To me, he is the only sustaining force in our lives and our greatest hope!

The good news is, no matter what 2018 was or wasn’t, tomorrow is going to be great.

This is not wishful thinking or rolling the dice at the game of luck. No, it’s rooted in who God is and what he has said about us. From this platform of truth, we can overcome anything and grow in hope with grace. Our perception is reality, which is why we must base our lives on Jesus and his word. Good and bad years come and go but the word of God endures forever. Events happen daily, but his promises are steadfast. Emotions go up and down yet, our God is the same yesterday, today and forever. This perspective can lift our faith, crush our doubts and fuel our hope. There is enough junk that comes our way to defeat us, yet our Christ gives us the victory. We can believe that tomorrow is going to be great.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”

Psalms 37:23

“The Lord will work out his plans for my life, for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”

Psalms 138:8

Notice God has good things for our lives. He is the giver of good gifts and he is faithful to complete all he has said. Our part is to believe it! This is the challenge as we look around us seeing what isn’t right. We see what’s missing and we see the mountain looming. Yet God is greater. In fact the enemy to faith is sight – not fear. Many times it’s what we see that deflates us. Fear is invisible most of the time, but sight tells us visible stories. So, who is going to win? Faith or sight?

I want to encourage you with this statement, tomorrow is going to be great!

I believe this is true because of who God is and nothing else. It’s his character. It’s his track record. It’s his promises. It’s his faithfulness. Yes, tomorrow is going to be great! I don’t know how and when, but he is coming through for you. He will not lie and he will not withhold any good thing from you. 2019 is going see victory for you. It’s going to see promises fulfilled and it’s going to ring out the praises of God. I believe and pray this over you!

So, what’s next?

We have a part to play in this; therefore, January is a great time for prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting aligns us to receive from God. It’s a spiritual detox that prepares us for what he has. We don’t buy anything from God nor do we earn good points for his gifts; however, we can touch him with our faith. This is how he moves and this is how things change. Jesus responded to faith over and over again in the gospels and he does the same today. Prayer and fasting empowers us to touch God with our faith.

I encourage you to join us from January 6th to 26th in 21 days of prayer and fasting. During this time, we write out our prayer requests. We write out our goals and we write out what we are believing God for in 2019. We do this as a memorial. When he does it, we cross it off and give him credit for doing it. We have daily prayer themes with verses so you can join us wherever you are. Everyone is invited to be a part.

So what do you want to see God do in 2019?

January is a great time to set expectation that tomorrow is going to be great.

No matter what you are facing. No matter what you have done. No matter where you have been, he’s faithful to do miracles in your lives. It’s my hope this blog builds your faith and that you would take your next step into what God has for you. It’s my hope you start 2019 with a set time or prayer and fasting, believing for his grace and providence in your lives. Nothing is too hard for him, so as we guard our perception and believe God, anything can happen.

I pray your new year is amazing and that you have a time of reflection and thanksgiving. I also pray your heart is stirred to believe that tomorrow is going to be great.

Happy New Year and the best is yet to come,
PD
