Knocking on Heaven’s Door
I believe in eternity. The greatest promise that God gave to you and I is found in John 3:16. It says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Notice, Jesus came to save us and give us life everlasting. Living for God is worth it as we have a home prepared in eternity. This is not fantasy or an idea to get us through life but rather it is a promise from God. How we live matters not only for ourselves but also for others. I believe the only thing we can take into eternity is the investment we make in relationships. This is why it’s so important to be around the right people and that we influence people for good verses for evil. Heaven is real. Heaven is promised and God wants to be with us forever.
However, knocking on heaven’s door can be daily!
Our connection with God can be right now and it can be tangible. While Jesus is preparing a place for us, He also wants to move in us and through us right now. The way we knock on heaven’s door is through prayer. When you and I talk to God, somehow He opens up heaven’s doors to us. He answers prayer, He moves in our lives, He heals us, He provides, and He protects us. In fact, His ability is limitless toward all people.
Notice what Luke 11:2 says –
“So He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”
Luke 11:2
Heaven is both an eternal promise and a present promise through Jesus. Meaning, Jesus will move on our behalf today. There is nothing too hard for Him. This is why it’s so important that we pray and reach for God. He’s no respecter of persons which means, it doesn’t matter how spiritual or unspiritual we feel, He will answer prayer. It’s true that we will walk through heaven’s door one day as we enter into eternity. Yet, we can knock on heaven’s door daily and have God open up this reality to us now.
Notice Jesus wants God to touch earth and our lives, like it is in heaven. This means, our every need is supplied through Him. We know things will not be perfect but, our God will move on our behalf and do great wonders for us when we pray.
I encourage you, don’t stop knocking on heaven’s door.
He’s listening to every word, He sees every tear and He knows every desire. Jesus is a genius and He knows exactly how to answer every prayer we pray and He knows the perfect time to do it.
Don’t give up! Move forward! Be tenacious! Heaven is real and He’s coming to you today.
Receive Jesus into your life. He’s the savior and He’s the answer for you and the world. I encourage all of us to keep knocking on heaven’s door as a part of our daily lives. Don’t worry about how you sound, or if you know the right words to say because Jesus responds to your voice. I believe some of the best prayers are the simplest ones, so speak out, He’s listening.
He’s ready to heal your past, give hope to your present and show His promises for your future.
Knocking on heaven’s door works, and He’s ready to answer for you. Have a great week and may you be filled with hope, courage and faith.
