Amazing Grace – Pass it On

“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.”

What an awesome hymn that many of us know and have heard. In fact, the song “Amazing Grace” is one of the most famous church songs in history.

It speaks to where we come from and how God has changed us from the inside out. It also speaks of our eternal hope through God, that we will be with Him forever. And yet, I believe we receive His amazing grace every day. God is so good to us, and He gives grace for our daily lives. Grace means undeserved favor. We receive what we don’t deserve through this grace. Wow!

If you’re like me, you need His amazing grace every day.

However, will we share this amazing grace with others? Only God can give amazing grace to you and me, but we can reflect what God has done through us to those in our lives. This is huge, and it’s the expectation Jesus has for us. We are to receive freely from God, and then we are to give freely through God to others. For many, we will be the Jesus that they see, so it’s up to us to reflect who He really is. This is why it’s so important that we live what we say, and we let God heal our insecurities, our hearts and our lives. Yes, we are all imperfect but we can let others see the power of Jesus through our imperfections, giving them hope because we have received it ourselves.

Amazing grace, pass it on.

Our challenge is to pass on the amazing grace we have received. It’s to reflect the nature and the love of Jesus to those we like and to those we don’t like. It’s to give hope that we can be redeemed and set free through the power of Jesus. Everyone needs hope. Every day so many people around us loose hope, and yet God is reaching for them. Amazing grace shouldn’t be just amazing for us, but it can also be amazing for those around us. That’s why this is amazing grace, pass it on!

Paul said Ephesians 2:8-9,

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

Notice we can’t boast about this amazing grace. It wasn’t us, it’s not what we’ve done or what we deserved. This is a gift from God, and because of this, we are to freely share this grace with others. The moment we become entitled is the moment we forget where we’ve come from. We can’t afford this! We must pass on the amazing grace of Jesus to those around us. This is our commission, this is our hope and this is our purpose. No matter what you feel called to do, through it we are to pass on the grace of Jesus.

Who in your life causes you trouble? Who in your life frustrates you?

I encourage you this week, to intentionally show them amazing grace. Whatever God has given you, turn around and give that to them. This is what were commissioned to do. It’s simple, yet it’s massive and a challenge. What God has given to us we in turn give to others. Now I know that we are imperfect and limited, but we can aim to do our best through God.

Please don’t let amazing grace just be amazing for you. Reach out to others, let His amazing grace be given to them, too. God can use you in a great way more than you know. Step out, reach out, and love someone.

Amazing grace, pass it on.

Have a great week and best is yet to come,
PD
