“Help, is God listening to me?”
Have you ever asked that question? In life we all come to a point where we don’t have the answer, and we look to Him for help. There are also times where we think we have the right path planned out, and all of a sudden things change, and we wonder – what is God doing?
Have you been there before?
Whether or not you follow Jesus, everyone needs someone, everyone needs community and everyone needs a Savior. But what do you do when you feel that God isn’t listening to you? These feelings come for many reasons. Maybe there is a delay with answered prayer. Maybe there is a delay in a job opportunity or in a desired destination to live. These things can come in so many ways and forms, yet I believe we all come to a point where we ask, “Help, is God listening to me?” It’s in these moments that God does His greatest work. The issue is, will we stand still and let God reveal His peace and His plan in our lives?
No matter what you’re feeling today or what you’re facing, the Bible is clear that God is a very present help in the time of trouble (Psalms 46:1). He leads us by green pastures and calm waters (Psalms 23). He leads us in the path that is best for our lives (Isaiah 48:17). The problem is we don’t always see it, and we don’t always understand it – which breeds feelings of insecurity and distrust. When we don’t know what God is doing it’s easy to wonder, “Is He listening to me?”
Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us amazing insight: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
When we feel overwhelmed, when we feel that we don’t understand or see what God is doing, this is the verse we can go to for strength and help. Wen we trust the Lord with all of our heart and let our understanding be at peace, He will show us the path that we should take. This means the biggest and smallest details can be guided by the Holy Spirit. All of these are important to God; therefore, He knows what He’s doing for us and with us.
How are you feeling today? Are you confused? Do you have peace? Is everything great? No matter your answer, God wants to show us more of Himself and reveal His great plans for our lives. When you feel, “Help, is God listening to me?” remember He has plans that are good and He wants to show you those plans. I think this is so important, because God doesn’t have plans and not share it. He has plans and He wants to tell us what they are. Our role is to let Him show us what they are.
This is where we overcome impatience, stubbornness and pride in order to receive what Jesus has for us.
I encourage you, God listens to every prayer you pray, and He even keeps every tear you’ve cried in a bottle (Psalms 56:8). Think about the power of God for you and for me. It’s overwhelming!
He is a genius who knows what’s best for us and knows how to get it to us. God knows you. He’s watching you and He’s moving on your words today. Keep praying, keep worshiping, keep being involved in your church, keep connecting to the Bible, because every step we take in faith, God sees it and He’s moving on it.
Help, is God listening to me? Yes He is and He is right on time for you. Don’t give up. Keep moving forward. God has great plans for your life and He has the right path for you to take. Trust Him, and give Him a chance because something good is going to happen to you.
Have a great week and you be encouraged that the best is yet to come.
