It’s Monday, Now What?

I hope Easter weekend was great for you, your family and your friends. It’s a great time of year to remember the hope that we have in Jesus. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow and I can live in power today. This gives us peace. No matter what we face, Jesus can do something about it.

Sunday is the day that we think of going to church, and it’s also the day that we celebrate Jesus coming back to life. But have you noticed that after Sunday, there always comes a Monday?

The day after Easter, I find myself asking, “It’s Monday, now what?”

This question can be depressing every week, as we think of starting a new work week or facing a battle that we’re up against. But no matter what is going on in our lives, we have to know that Jesus is there every day of the week. And after we celebrate His resurrection on Easter, we have to know how to move forward living a life of faith. So what now?

It’s important to remember that Jesus lives to be our savior, and He lives to help our current life be the best it can be! This is huge. We are not here to exist, but we are here to thrive in His purpose and His love. I believe this verse sums up the answer to the question, “It’s Monday, now what”?

“Then he told me, “The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and hear Him speak.”

Acts 22:14

Notice that God has called us in three distinct ways. This are possible because He lives!

The first is to know God’s will. He has a purpose and design for our lives. No one has been forgotten – in fact, every one of us has been thought of by God. I pray this year that you would know God’s will for your life more than ever before. Have this hope. If we can know His will, then we can fulfill it. God has given us grace to discover what He wants for us. We don’t have to be confused, but rather this can be clear to us. I encourage you to ask God to show you His will for your life this year, and believe He will do it.

The second calling is to see the righteous one. You see, you and I will not only see Jesus in eternity but we can see Him move in our life right now. He lives not just in the future. He lives in our present. This is where God walks with you and me every day. This is where He’s real to us on Monday morning. This is where we know Him, and where we see Him show up and answer prayer. He makes a way where there is no way. He moves like no one else can move, and He does what we cannot do! I encourage you to believe that you will see Jesus move in your life more than ever before. Have faith, believe, reach out and expect something good to happen to you and your family this year.

The third calling is to hear His voice. This is not spooky or weird. In fact, you and I can hear the voice of God whisper inside of us every day. You and I can know Him as an up-close-and-personal friend. The Holy Spirit is in us to give us this type of relationship. You see, Jesus is alive, and because He lives you and I can hear Him speak every day. We need to hear Him. Whatever is going around us, He is a very present help in the time of trouble. I pray that you would hear God’s voice this year more than ever before. I pray that He would whisper with clarity in your spirit and that you would know what He wants you to do. I pray that you would not be confused, and you would not be in fear, but rather you would be in faith.

“It’s Monday, now what?”

This is our time to know God’s will, to see God move and to hear His voice. I believe this year is going to be the greatest year of your life. This is good to remind ourselves after Easter! He’s alive for eternity and for right now.

I pray you’re encouraged today. I pray you’re built up today, and I pray that God would do His purpose in you!

Even when it feels like Monday, there is hope for you.

Have a great week,
PD
