Ready, Set, Go!
Happy New Year.
I believe this will be the best year yet for you and your family. I’m convinced of this because God is good and He seeks to fulfill our lives in every way. That simple statement is profound when you think about how the way we see Him determines how we carry out our day-to-day routines. I believe His desires for us are amazing, and when we believe that, we can yield to our all to Him, thus conquering the fear that holds us back.
Yes, it’s possible to dismantle fear through Christ. That’s a big part of us receiving all He has in 2018.
No matter what did or didn’t happen last year, please receive fresh faith to believe that the best is yet to come. If God is for us, who can be against us? No one! Come on, we have an amazing hope, an unshakeable anchor for our souls who will never leave us nor forsake us. Our best days are ahead of us, and what’s coming is greater than what’s happened. All His promises are yes and amen for you and for me, meaning what He says about us, He has full intentions of completing. He is a faithful God. When we struggle to believe, He still is faithful to do what He promised (2 Timothy 2:13).
However, we have a part to play in our faith.
This is not automatic. He requires things from us so He can take them and do what we can’t. Our responsibility is to respond in faith and to trust Him as He leads us into our purpose. This is how we have fulfillment, and this is how we complete what He begins. You see, Jesus receives what we give as the substance to do miracles. He makes us a part of the equation, not that he has to, but rather He chooses to and makes us a co-laborer with Him. This speaks to our relationship and how He walks with us daily. He shows us His love, giving us His Spirit and empowering us to be what we couldn’t be without Him. How humbling, that our God who can do anything He wants, chooses to involve you and me for His purposes. He willingly includes us in His plans for us to make a mark in this life and to impact eternity. Wow! This is the opportunity of a lifetime. This is the greatest adventure we could ever take. This is the greatest life we could live. Everything else is incomplete and hollow, but with Jesus life makes sense.
Therefore, it’s Ready, Set, Go for everyone.
God has given us the green light to move forward. Some people seemingly are waiting on Him their whole lives instead of attempting something for Him. Please hear me. It’s great to wait on the Lord as the Bible tells us to. This is where we are refreshed and built up. Yet our lives are not meant to hide behind scriptural ideas. We were made to go and do something with Jesus. Too many people let fear rob them of opportunities of fulfillment and purpose. Life is too short for that. When this happens, critics are revealed as they watch the game instead of being in the game. But we are called higher than this. Haters are going to hate, so we’re better off giving them something to hate on.
Notice in Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus said,
“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ “
Matthew 28:18-20
Folks, this is our Ready, Set, Go!
Jesus gave us the permission to step out and do something with Him. He has empowered us to have a full life. He has equipped us to be more than we could be, thus living a life of purpose and joy. Isn’t this what we all want? It is! Therefore, embrace your Ready, Set, Go this year. I encourage you to do something in your local church, as this is the body of Jesus, and it’s great way to begin this journey. Serve on a team, give your finances, or join a life group. Reach out in your faith like never before. If you’re already doing this, don’t stop and don’t quit. Overcome offense and don’t let it rob you. We must remember, offenses come but it our choice to pick them up. Move on, forgive, keep Jesus the main thing. Have boundaries, don’t try to do everything just do something and let God augment your gifts.
What we want God to do is in our Ready, Set, Go. What we want to do is in our Ready, Set, Go. This is why we are tempted to shut down and not do anything but God is greater.
Let Jesus make 2018 the year yet by giving Him something to work with. Live in the moment and make it count for eternity. The time is now. People are waiting on us to shine for Him. They want to receive this hope. They are looking for more and we have what they need.
Believe this; you’re valuable, you’re needed, you’re important and your Ready, Set, Go is now.
Have a great year, and the best is yet to come,
PD
