From Holes to Wholeness
People are amazing! They have great capacity in will power, focus, desire and more. We have witnessed these things through inventions, creativity & ideas that have inspired us as our limits stretch what is possible. We love to see greatness and excellence in motion. We are attracted to it, and we know it when see it. We strive for it ourselves seeking significance and recognition in our work.
However, people are limited. Through all the amazing achievements, we as people have holes. We are flawed and in need of fulfillment in big ways. Holes exist within us because we are imperfect and incapable of being all we need for ourselves or others. This impacts all people and no one is left out as we all share in this together.
But, there is good news! The holes we have can be made whole by Jesus. He made a way for all people to be healed and completed in His love. We all have broken hearts at some level, and yet it’s His power and grace that heal this condition.
In Christ, we can go from holes to wholeness. Isaiah 53:5 says
“He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
This deals with four big holes we share. Our wrong acts, our inward inclinations, our fear and our sickness. How big are these? We all have these holes, and we all have felt the effects of them. But Jesus is our healer.
He took our place. Because He did this, we can receive wholeness. The guilt and shame from wrong acts are cleaned and healed. The frustrations of our inward inclinations are redeemed and changed. The torment of fear in our minds is exchanged for peace. The sicknesses we face is healed and taken from us. This is what He wants to do for you because He loves all people.
We must remember: no matter how amazing people are, we have holes and we need Jesus. His wholeness is what we are seeking! His wholeness is what we need, and He is the only one who is giving it away.
Which of these holes is impacting you?
Jesus is greater! He completed this work for you over 2,000 years ago and it works today. He loves you and He’s moving toward you now.
I encourage you to pray specifically for the hole in your life. Ask for His wholeness and believe He will do it. We must ask and then receive. He will answer! You can go from holes to wholeness.
Have a great week and may He be your healer this year!
