CHRISTMAS BASICS

Christmas is awesome and should be celebrated!?It provides a chance to worship Christ, be with family, have great food and enjoy friends. With these things many people have adopted good traditions that add to the Season. I refer to these as Christmas basics!?There could be many on the list but I’ve narrowed it down to three that I think are pervasive no matter where we are in the world.

First is a Christmas tree: They are cool when fully decorated with ornaments and lights. They can be beautiful and create good family time when putting them up and being together.

Second are Christmas lights: This refers to lights on houses, downtown areas of cities, and huge trees lit up. This always adds to the season, because as night comes faster, these lights provide a bright reminder of the time of year.

Third are the presents: We get a chance to give and receive gifts from others. This gives a platform to show love and appreciation for those in our lives along with having a good time.

While these are great to have and experience, they point to the message of Christ and why we have this season in the first place.

John 12:32 says, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

There is no better time of the year to lift Jesus high than Christmas; therefore, here is how the Christmas basics reflect His message.

First, the Christmas Tree. ?How powerful that it was a tree He hung on to free us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13) thus liberating us in His grace and mercy. No matter who receives Jesus, He has the promise of New Beginnings with the cleansing of our past and the hope of our future. Receive Him today! The tree sets us free through Jesus!

Second, Christmas lights. He is the Light of the world (John 8:12) which heals us from spiritual blindness and brokenness. This is big since darkness blurs truth and purpose; therefore, we all can have clear understanding with meaning. There is also a great law in nature which illustrates Jesus. Darkness is always trumped by light, which is the picture of His eternal victory in us, in His church and in the world! Do you see the Light? Receive Him and receive your sight!

Third, presents. The Indescribable Gift (2 Corinthians 9:15) is Him! He is the giver of eternal life and all His promises are yes and amen. The greatest gift we can receive is His saving grace that changes a person like me and like you. Because of this we can be different and made whole. We can be healed from a lifetime of issues into a place of peace that passes our junk and stuff. Of all the gifts you get this year, I pray you receive and/or celebrate the greatest of all, Him!

Do you have the Christmas basics today?

I pray that you would experience the Christmas basics in receiving life everlasting and joy that is unspeakable!

May this be the best Christmas Season you’ve ever had!

Love you all!
