THE PLACE
We all have The Place we like to go the one we prefer over others to celebrate and relax. We choose this spot for numerous reasons as it connects to different parts of our person.
It could be a coffee shop, a restaurant, a park, or other. No matter the layout, we choose the place to enjoy it!
What is your place?
God has the place He chooses too! However, His reasons are far different from ours.
He chooses a place in spite of how it looks, how it smells, if it has baggage and if it is ugly. He sees past the exterior, and sees a deeper purpose, a deeper meaning and a deeper potential. Pedigree is not considered, neither is popularity. He is coming from another angle and position altogether.
The Place for Him is our heart!
It’s the treasure He desires above all else. This is why He died, to have us. To have our hearts in a relationship united by love. To be authentic in every way with Him. This was His purpose coming to Earth and this is our purpose of living.
We have a hard time wrapping our mind around this because we know all the junk in our hearts. Our hearts have their good days, but they have more bad days. They’re jaded, ugly, and slanted in our favor most of the time, yet He calls it the place.
Jesus has the power to transform our hearts making us something we couldn’t be without Him. He has the ability to transcend our lives history, and bring beauty out of ashes.
So how does Christ choose our hearts to be The Place?
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
1 Peter 5:5
This verse says it all! It slaps religion in the face and pushes back the hoops created by others. He desires a humble heart!
We may want a more complex answer but to Him it’s simple. When we humble our hearts before Him, He has all He needs to transform them. We will relinquish our will, we will open our hopes and dreams for Him to touch. We will do what He wants in our lives!
Never underestimate the power of humility. This is who God comes to. This is who He calls The Place!
Today we all have wrong things in our hearts, but we are the ones He wants. We all have issues right now, yet He is coming to us with grace and power. We all have closets; however, His light shines and heals those things.
The question is, “Will we be humble?”
Let 2015 be the year you humble yourself before God. Allow His will to be yours. This is the moment we have to maximize our opportunity! Go for it! Let your heart be The Place for Him.
When He is with us, nothing can stop us. Have a great week and may we humble ourselves before Him!
The best is yet to come!
