Unknown to Me…
Life is great when things go as planned and our every step lines up the way we wanted it to. It makes things easier and gives opportunity to understand all that touches us.
This is the ideal life we want. Our goals and more attained with ease yet we have lived long enough to know that’s not reality.
In fact more times than not, things do not go as planned and our steps take different directions than we thought. It’s easy to be overwhelmed and frustrated as this truth plays out in our life. I’ve been here before and probably will be there again because we cannot predict; moreover, control life.
Life in general is unknown to me.
It turns to different places, it leads to new discoveries and it challenges my motives.
However it’s in these moments that our lives can take the amazing step of yielding control to Christ, seeing what He has for our lives. While this breeds the unknown, it also breeds the chance of a lifetime to discover who we are in our purpose. I believe that our best thought of ourselves is still lower compared to God’s thought of us! His ideas, His passion, His heart is HUGE for you and I! In fact any greatness we have, is from Him!
What if the Unknown is beginning of something new?
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are Higher than the Earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9
This gives me relief because when I’m faced with the Unknown, there is someone in my life who knows more than me! There is someone who is leading me through the terrain of these areas and He has a good destination for me.
It will do us good to admit two things:
First, our thoughts are not always right. May seem simple yet powerful in practice. Have you ever played a card game with a person who thought they were right all the time? They believed their thoughts were always right and we know they were always wrong.
This is how we can be with God if we stay in a place of stubbornness. If we don’t acknowledge that what we are thinking may not be right, we will be led wrong. His thoughts are better than ours. His thoughts are bigger than ours and His thoughts are more complete than ours.
When life is unknown to us, He still knows it all! Could it be that when we don’t know it all, is when He has the chance to do it all?
The second thing to admit is that our ways are not always right. We know this, yet too often don’t acknowledge it. The sooner we come to the reality that looks at us in the mirror, is the moment life change can happen. From the inside out, we can be changed and empowered to be better.
His ways are not corrupt but rather they are pure and full of love. Could it be when we don’t know it all, that is when His ways can change our ways?
The BIGGER picture is always greater than the immediate one. He sees the game of life from a different angle and He knows every move made. He has great things for us. He is moving us to win and overcome!
When life is unknown to me, I’m learning to embrace the moment, expecting something above me to come my way!
Expect the best, embrace the unknown because God is with us. Love you all and have a great week!
The best is yet to come!
