What’s Love Got to Do with It?

Everything in our lives are centered around love.

In fact, we discover what life is about when we love others and when we love ourselves.

The challenge we face is sifting through disappointments, breaks ups, and the let downs of life connected to others. It is unanimous that we all deal with this reality; however, we decide where we will go with it.

This is crucial because the direction we take these experiences is connected to our joy and peace with the people in our life and within ourselves.

What’s love got to do with it? Everything!

The good news is that we have a plan that details how we practice His Love daily. From this passage we can gauge where we are winning and where we are struggling. This is practical and powerful as it speaks to our daily temptations regarding love.

I’m going to list these points so it’s easier for us to process what love is, empowering us to walk this out.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8:

Love is patient – Are you patient with those around you?

Love is kind – Are you kind to people everywhere?

Love does not envy – Does jealousy of any person or thing tempt you?

Love does not boast – Are tempted to brag out of insecurity?

Love is not prideful – Are you prideful in any form with others?

Love is not rude – Do you seek to affirm others or tear them down?

Love is not self-seeking – Are you tempted to make everything about you?

Love is not quick in anger – Are you angry because you are afraid?

Love keeps no record of wrong – Have you forgiven others?

Love is not in with evil – Are you tempted to compromise?

Love rejoices in truth – Do you value truth over denial?

Love protects – Do you protect others in reputation, secrets and more?

Love trusts – Do you live in distrust or in trust of others?

Love hopes – Do you have hope?

Love prevails – Do you feel like stopping? DON’T! You can make it!

Love never fails – Failure is not final!

This is challenging yet it is our plan to follow. None of us have arrived with this list as we are in process. The point is not to be perfect in every category, but rather to let Jesus touch our hearts with the areas we struggle in so that we are like Christ!

What’s love got to do with it? Everything! Go for it! God is with you and will heal you!

Have a great week and the best is yet to come!

Something great is happening.
