Righteousness, Peace, and Joy

Our heart’s desire is to have The Good Life!

We equate this idea to marriage, kids, career, finances and our dreams being fulfilled. While all of these things are great to have, there is more for us.

It is easy to focus on the exterior of what we see; however, Christ sees the interior of our heart. He sees what lasts for eternity and what truly makes for The Good Life. Many of us know this to be true, yet struggle in the quagmire of surface happiness and surface things. Our attraction to the good life is based on feeling good; moreover, looking good to others in our aim to impress. Yet, there is more for us.

Christ has a complete picture for you and me. He will touch the exterior and interior of our lives. He will give favor and forgiveness! He will give gifts and grace!

“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 14:17

What does The Good Life look like? Here are 3 areas that can reflect having The Good Life:

First is righteousness: This means we are right with God and we are empowered to do right. How powerful that in our imperfection and in our struggles we are right with God and we can do good things for Him. This is beyond our works or our goodness; it is His Love being poured out!

Second is peace: We have the opportunity to have peace that surpasses our understanding. Our culture is searching for peace and yet our peace is complete in Jesus! He is The Prince of Peace which means the captain or governor of it. He has the power to give it and we have the opportunity to receive it!

Third is joy: The joy of the Lord is our strength in all areas of our lives! We can have joy and not be happy at the same time. This is powerful because happiness comes and goes but His joy is a constant. We have access to this joy that is unspeakable and full of glory.

This is how The Good Life looks daily. In fact, The Good Life comes from our God Life. Notice He is the center of where everything is touched and blessed to be better!

I encourage you to receive this. Allow Jesus to give you the complete picture of righteousness, peace and joy with all you do. This is the best way to live! This is The Good Life!

Have a great week and the best is yet to come!
