Did you know that Christmas is about two separate births?

Christmas exists because of the first birth, which is Christ being born.

For those of us who have been around church we have heard this famous story from Luke 2 several times and yet it’s important that we don’t tune it out.

Isaiah 9:6 declares this

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the Government will be upon His shoulder. His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6

To me this screams that Christ birth was special!!

This Child would carry all of God in Him and through Him anybody could receive everlasting life, which is pretty important stuff.

Because He was born we get to live forever and celebrate this event yearly as way to say thank you with all our heart. This is crucial for us to practice as His purpose in coming was filled with Love for you and I!

This first birth is the reason why we live, why we worship, and why we celebrate Christmas!

The second birth is directly connected to the first and it has to do with you and I. Because He was born you and I have the chance to be “born again.” I know this phrase gets thrown around in church, in movies, in comedy, and more. Yet there is Gospel truth in it!

John 3:3 says

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:3

Jesus’ birth opened the door for our “New Birth” in becoming a Christ follower so that we live with Him for eternity.

It’s my conviction that a complete Christmas is one that Worships Christ in the first birth, then celebrates the second birth by receiving Jesus and living a life for Him!

I encourage you today to have this complete Christmas!

Be determined in all the hustle and bustle to Worship Christ as the reason we celebrate and then receive Christ into your heart as your Savior thus living forever with Him!

This is the time to enjoy all the good things He has given; moreover, to acknowledge the two births that are the root of this Season.

Have a great Christmas and may the Lord bless you, increase you, and open doors into the destiny God has for you!

The best is yet to come!

Something great is happening!
