Something happens when we pray!
No matter our background, knowledge, or place in life, our prayers have impact.
This can be difficult to believe when we pray for something over and over again while the issue doesn’t change yet His Word gives us a powerful promise.
“Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be open.”
Matthew 7:7
Notice He says ask and we receive. He didn’t say we would receive in the next minute, day, week, month or year He just said we would receive. This is where the seek and knock come into play as it’s speak to our persistence with determination.
It’s intriguing to me that in another passage Jesus gave a further insight to this truth.
Luke 11:5-8 tells of a man who’s friend came to his house at midnight to get some food and even though it was an inconvenience he gave his friend what he needed.
“I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.”
Luke 11:8
This speaks to the seek and knock in our prayers!
Could it be that sometimes we don’t receive because we are not persistent?
We all get weary in our prayers as life happens around us yet there is a greater truth that something happens when we pray.
No matter what major prayer requests you have this Christmas, God is able and He is willing. All He needs is someone’s persistence to ask, seek and knock. To carry this out practically have a set time to pray daily, get in a rhythm that you can feasibly do because the seek and the knock takes root when we pray daily.
God will come through for you, He will answer your prayers! Don’t give up, don’t quit, stay the course because our King is great in power for all who call on Him.
I believe this will be a great Christmas with family and friends; moreover, a Christmas season of answered prayers.
Have a great week and the best is yet to come!!
Something great is happening.
